Credit card printers can be stand alone or part of the computer or cash register. Regardless of where they are located they require a paper roll and or with impact printers a paper roll, ribbon or self contained paper roll.

New rules require a double printing of each receipt so no paper with the full credit card number and expiration date leaves the premises. This requires a thermal paper roll or a 1ply bond roll. In spite of this law, there is still a demand for the 2ply carbonless roll.
