 POS (Point of sale) printers fall into 2 groups: Thermal and Impact.
Thermal printers do not use ribbons and as a result are quieter, and perfect for Restaurant Dining rooms. They also have less moving parts and therefore are more reliable than impact printers. They are the preferred printer for many uses, including credit card printers. Impact printers usually require a ribbon, plus a paper roll, but a few use a self contained paper roll, that produces an image without a ribbon. Hamco has all the paper sizes and all the ribbons, both spooled and cartridge, used in your printer.
